Many of you know that this past year I had the amazing privilege of traveling to Kitale, Kenya. The purpose of the trip was for me to take pictures for several different non-profit organizations so that they could use the images in their print materials and websites. I was simply supposed to photograph what each of these organizations did and give them the rights to use the images. It seemed simple enough. But I had no idea the impact that this trip would have on my life.
I had read the statstics about global poverty before I went to Kenya, including the number of people who go to bed hungry every night and the number of people who lack access to clean water, but nothing could have prepared me for the sight of these statistics coming to life. Suddenly the "statistics" were no longer just numbers on a page...they were people. They were Paul, and David, and Michael. They were Danielle, and Rael, and Sarah. Each had a story. Each had hopes and dreams. And each was struggling to survive until tomorrow.
This Christmas rather than giving traditional presents will you help me give clean water? While I may not personally know the individuals who will be receiving this water, I do know that they are more than just a statistic. They have a story...and I'd love for you and I to be a part of it. Please join me in helping bring water...and a future...for those without.
